Wasserman Projects is pleased to launch our Fall season with two solo presentations – Hans Op de Beeck: Vanishing Point and Christine Elfman Still Becoming. Featuring sculpture, painting, film, and photography, both artists speak to the infinite and mysterious space between reality and representation, inviting reflection on the fleeting nature of the human condition.

Belgian-based, artist Hans Op de Beeck’s work is a reflection on our complex society and the universal questions of meaning and mortality that resonate within it. Working in a diverse range of media, Op de Beeck seeks to create a form of visual fiction that delivers a moment of wonder and silence. Vanishing Point is presented in collaboration with Templon Gallery (Paris, Brussels, New York).

Christine Elfman is an artist based in Ithaca, New York who makes images that combine stillness with change, clarity with ambiguity, intention with chance. She uses photographic processes in which the subject matter acts as its own medium to make images that refuse to be fixed or resolved.

Alongside our featured exhibitions, TINNED II, a continuation of our Summer group show will be on view in Wasserman Works. In an ongoing celebration of Wasserman Projects’ ten years in Detroit, this salon collection will highlight a rotating number of artist that have previously exhibited with us over the past decade.
