JOSH BOLIN
Josh Bolin (b. 1978 San Francisco California) is a Detroit based artist whose work has to do with trauma, obsession, and recurrence. He makes work that the influences of his history and society has affected him to make in a diaristic vein. His work is reminiscent of French and German painting, particularly after the release of the Prinzhorn Collection. Other influences include: pop culture, cartoons, comics, illustration, anime, graphics, advertising, and video games. He completed his MFA in Painting from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2016.
