SPRING 2024
Underfoot / Overhead
Marina Zurkow, James Schmitz, Jasmine Murrell
April 5 – June 8, 2024
RECEPTION: Friday, April 5th, 5-8pm
Wasserman Projects is pleased to present our Spring exhibition Underfoot / Overhead featuring NY-based artists Marina Zurkow + James Schmitz, and Detroit-born, NY-based Jasmine Murrell. “Underfoot / Overhead” is a multimedia exhibition that will invite new forms of discourse about the climate crisis.
The collaborative generative video works of Zurkow + Schmitz is supported by near real-time data sourced from global meteorological and pollution monitoring systems. Murrell’s immersive installations incorporate organic material and found objects in her process of searching for truths – under the skin, on the ground we walk on, within the stories we tell and the lies we believe.
Alongside Underfoot / Overhead in our Wasserman Works space we will be featuring two new bodies of work from Ligorano Reese. Also on view: a selection of prints from Marina Zurkow, glass sculptures from Andy Koupal, books, and more.
